Chelle - Maternity Shoot

Chelle is one of my preggy and Weddings-at-Work friends who give me advice from time to time. When she told me she's going to have a maternity boudoir shoot, I was so excited for her that I volunteered to do her makeup for free.  I thank her for trusting me way before I graduated from makeup school. She's the first person I did makeup on after graduation so I must really be lucky because she's my buena mano and she's pregnant!

Thank you Chelle and belated happy birthday!

My Wedding Day Makeup

So here is my obligatory Instagram before-and-after makeup picture which I posted the day after the wedding

Where do I start? It has been 135 days since our wedding and although I've forgotten majority of the products I used on my face, I will never forget the feeling of apprehension as I put on my makeup that day. I was nervous, shaky, and I am unsure of what my next step would be.

Before our wedding day, I did not take any formal classes, I just relied on Youtube tutorials and wedding blogs. I committed a lot of makeup no-nos. I didn't know half of what I know now. But I didn't regret a thing. Doing my own wedding makeup was something special for me. I did a lot of DIYs for our wedding, but this one was the toughest. I was under a lot of pressure, and I had to look my best.

I can attest to the miracle that God gave me clear skin on the month of our wedding. I did not have anything to conceal, except for one little scar I have on my cheek. I am also lucky that I got enough sleep the night before so I looked fresh and vibrant.

Call it beginner's luck, but I think I did well on my DIY wedding makeup. It was hard but it was worth it. A lot of people complimented me. Of course I had to be beautiful, ako yung bride e!

HD Makeup Academy Graduation - Avant Garde Look

I've mentioned in my previous post that I also did an avant garde look for our graduation. Initially, I thought of  using loud colors, but since I plan on doing bridal looks in the future, I couldn't really put the looks I had in mind in my portfolio. So, I settled for this famous Barbie-inspired look which was popularized by MAC when they came up with a limited edition Barbie line.

This look can easily be converted to a bridal look by switching to neutral colors and softening the crease contour. This is perfect for engagement shoots with a playful vibe though.

HD Makeup Academy Graduation - Bridal Look

Last July 20, I graduated from a short course on High Definition Beauty and Fashion Makeup from HD Makeup Academy. As part of our graduation requirements, we were tasked to come up two looks - bridal and avant garde.

Modeled by my good friend Cecile, this is my take on the bridal look.
